Webbie has paid tribute to the late Pimp C with a brand new photoshoot, but the reaction from fans hasn’t been quite what the Baton Rouge rapper was expecting.
On Saturday (April 8), Boosie Badazz‘s former rhyme partner took to Instagram to share a photograph of himself donning a pair of black jeans, white sneakers and a black fur coat with matching hat.

Under the coat, Webbie showed off his stomach exposing his “Savage Life” tattoo. But he wasn’t completely bare chested as he was wearing either a rolled up wife beater vest or some sort of black crop top.
“COLD WORLD [globe emoji] #movie OTW [film camera emoji]..Izup [finger pointed up emoji] R.I.P PIMP C [prayer hands and 100 emojis] @trillentertainment__@supa_unit #likefatherlikeson [fire, yellow square and golfer emojis] #SweetJonesJr. #SavageLife#BackToDaBubbles,” he captioned the post.
Introducing himself as a the son of Pimp C by using the late rapper’s “Sweet Jones” nickname and adding a “Jr.” to drive home the point, Webbie’s photo seemingly paid tribute to the late UGK rapper’s iconic sense of style, which would often see him rocking fur coats and hats — like in the video for “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You).”
However, due to ambiguity over what exactly Webbie was wearing, fans were divided in the rapper’s comments section, with some clowning him for his decision to wear what they thought to be a crop top.

“Nahhh bro.. I got you in my top 5 of all time! You can’t do this to me,” one fan wrote. “I’m already arguing with [ninja emoji]’s that tell me you shouldn’t be there… as a photographer I wouldn’t have let you do this man.”
A second commenter said: “Null Webster you stop this right now broh please delete this photo for the sake of Sweet Jones maaaan [prayer hand emoji] and Uncle @bunb.”

“Webbie you been gangsta all yo life and you pop up on my TL in a crop top?” another person wrote.
Some used Pimp C’s slang term “Trill” (used to describe someone who is considered to be well respected) to call out Webbie’s photoshoot. “This ain’t Trill,” said one Instagram user. Another concurred, writing: “Nothing trill about this.”
Mocked for “looking like Da Brat” and dressing “like Aaliyah,” and accused of wearing a “sports bra,” one Webbie fan went as far as to call it “too zesty” for their taste.

However, there were those in Webbie’s comments section rushing to his defense, pointing out that they believed it wasn’t a crop top, and instead he was lifting up his vest to show off his tattoo.
“If y’all look closely you would see that is a t shirt pulled up so he can show his tattoo,” one user commented. A second added: “He lifted up his wife beater so you can see his tattoos lol y’all so funny but this does look funny tho.”
While Webbie has yet to confirm the item of clothing he was wearing, he did respond to the viral ridicule in an Instagram video.
“Why don’t y’all repost, double post shit when I tell the kids to stay in schooling you can be whatever you wanna be? You know, the positive things about life,” he said in an Instagram video.
“You know what I’m talking about? Because that’s what I represent, Savage Life, ’cause I been through it all. You heard me? Shout out to all my dogs, all my homegirls,” he added, before telling people to quit playing with him.

Meanwhile, Bun B recently admitted that he could never compete with Pimp C when it came down to their careers because of his immense talent.
“If I had had any more ego, UGK wouldn’t have worked because there’s no way to compete against Pimp C,” Bun B told B High ATL in a recent interview. “In that sense, he was way more talented than me. He was a naturally cool muthafucker. He was the sex symbol, you know what I’m saying. He was a mentor to a lot of people I was too, but there’s no beating him one-on-one.”
