$12 Kmart slippers a dupe of $200 designer version

A $12 pair of slippers from Kmart has been labelled “super comfy” and a “steal for the price” after shoppers noticed they were very similar to a more expensive version.

Kmart’s Slingback Furry Scuffs are almost identical in appearance to $200 Ugg’s Fluff Yeah Slide Slippers, except they’re $188 cheaper.

Available in either black, mauve or red, the slippers have been a hit with Kmart fans, who have praised their much cheaper price tag and comfy design.

“I have these and bloody love them. I hate slippers that constantly bang on the floor or slip off your feet. And not as hot as regular uggs,” one person wrote in the Kmart Hacks & Decor Facebook group.

Several joked that they were now “running to Kmart” to get their hands on the slippers as “they look so comfy”.

However with Kmart’s slippers made from synthetic fur and Ugg’s from sheepskin several shoppers pointed out the quality wasn’t the same.

The Ugg version also came in 10 different colours and eight sizes, while Kmart’s slippers were in just two colours and three different sizes

“Most likely not (the same quality) but it’s a steal for the price,” one person wrote.

“I’ve got 4 pairs of Kmart slippers. No way I’d pay $200 for slippers (not these particular ones tho lol),” one person wrote.

‘SELLING LIKE CRAZY’: KMART JEAN FRENZY

Kmart’s $12 slippers aren’t the only item attracting a cult following, with a similar frenzy ensuing over the store’s jeans.

Last week Kmart’s $20 Super High Rise Jeans got the tick of approval from influencers @prettychuffed Jasmine Hunt and @luxeandlemonade’s Dani after they shared pictures of them wearing the denim on Instagram.

Jasmine described the jeans as “perfection” and said they helped complete a “gorgeous outfit for casual chic”.

Kmart’s Front Pleated Jeans have also gained a cult-like status with Kmart fans, with Dani saying the $20 denim were “selling like crazy and they have had zero complaint”.

“Went a size 10 and couldn’t believe how perfect they would fit over my bum! I do struggle with jeans and usually don’t opt for this style. But I immediately fell in love with the folded ankle cuffed & pleat front design,” Dani told her followers in an Instagram post in May.

Also popular are a $25 pair of Feel Good Jeans which Kmart shoppers say do just that: make the wearer feel like a million dollars.

“Seriously they are nicer than my Just Jeans ones,” Kmart shopper Meg Chilcott told news.com.au in June.

“The price, the high waist! They don’t feel uncomfortable like jeans can, don’t dig in. Just love them.”
